Girl in Library
Literacy

The Canton Chapter, NSDAR, is comprised of many current and former educators. As a chapter, we are passionate about fostering the love of reading in all children. To help with this goal, we collect and donate children's books to the several schools in our area.

Veterans

We have all been impacted by veterans and their sacrifices. We want them to know that they are honored and respected.

We have worked with Blue Star Mothers to collect items for returning soldiers at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. In conjunction with Wreaths Across America,  every December we lay wreaths on veterans graves in two Stark County cemeteries.

New Citizens

We are proud to call this country home and want to make every new citizen feel welcome. We  celebrate their accomplishment by joining them at naturalization ceremonies. We provide snacks, beverages, flags, and new citizen packets.

Hero Award 2019
Everyday American Heros

The Everyday American Heroes award is presented by the Canton Chapter, NSDAR, to a Stark County resident who makes a difference in their community.

Past winners include Amanda and Daniel Anschutz, who started the non-profit organization to deliver medically tailored meals to people with serious illnesses in 2017. The organization provides nutritional meals, at no cost, to people coping with chronic, life threatening illnesses, and diseases.

Service Men and Women

Our armed forces are the very essence of what makes our country great. Volunteering to fight for, protect, and defend others is the highest ideal one can display. We honor our American heroes by providing personal care items, snacks, and correspondence with our men and women in the services.

Hands in heart
Women's Issues

The Canton Chapter, NSDAR, is thankful to be able to help out the women in our community by collecting items for women's shelters, sending women soldier's feminine hygiene items, and donating to women's charities.
